Hey, Chris, I am sure you are blowing sweet all the time!
As far as your comments about where we live, moving, etc. I do agree. I love where I live, it is one of the most beautiful places on the planet, why would I want to move? And I have lots of room on my property to build my dream studio someday, in the meantime my temporary 8 x 12 room serves its purpose. Besides, I couldn't afford to live in LA. And who wants to breathe smog and sit in traffic for hours on end? And if I really need to go there, it is only a 5 1/2 hour drive and there are 3 return flights every day out of Modesto. I am actually heading done there next week for a Composer Expo and will probably make a nuisance of myself at some studios while I am at it. I need to knock on a few thousand more doors! :)
On tenor I use a Selmer Balanced Action, made in Paris in 1953, its the last batch before they made mark VI. I had the action and some keys modified to have a more modern feel but I have never found a horn sound that I liked better. On soprano I play Yanigasawa straight soprano. I use ottolink mouthpieces on both (medium small bore with medium hard reed). I haven't played bari for a number of years tho when i used to tour with bari I was playing a mark VI with low A using a wolftane mouthpiece, and never played alto much
Hi Chris. This forum is only 5 weeks old and growing very fast. Give it some time. The best way to get involved is to start discussions about some composing topics that interest you. Also, there are many groups to join and group composing projects going on.
