I've re-worked this composition, arrangement, recording, mix, etc. This features Chris Alpiar on sax and Adrian Peek on drums.

Pensado is a mixing engineer who has worked with Beyonce, Elton John, Kelly Clarkson, etc. His Youtubes contain a wealth of information. Also, on Facebook, you can join a group called Pensado's Students.

Deborah Young said… Hey, Doug! Love Solstice. I've been absent from the forum for quite a while. I think I missed out. I don't know if you're interested in having your music played on podcasts, but if so you might check out www.soundcloudpodcast.com. I think it's relatively new, and they seem to play mostly electronic music (created on a computer). I love electronica but would hate to see live instrumental music go the way of the 8-track tape.

See through me was co written and produced with Alex Dunn (also on composers forum) The distortion sound is quite crackly as I'm using a fender strat (single coils) I'm working on getting a better sound.

Andrew Gleibman said… - Thanka Doug, "Two Jazzmen" was purely improvised and then accelerated, edited and left unfinished; it exists in MIDI form only. I am not knowledgeable enough in Jazz instrumentation and rhythms to arrange it with the swinging rhythm; you are right also that it needs pauses to break out the overused rhythm. Your Jazz pieces look much more interesting; they are really Jazz!

- Guitar lessons in my youth, sent me in the direction of composing music. Later I taught myself a basic knowledge of piano/keyboard. I divide my time between music and the visual arts. (see my Website) I have been using MIDI and DAWS since the late 80's. I've posted a few photos of my gear. My favorites include Wayne Shorter, Hendrix, Beethoven, Copland, John Adams, Stravinsky, Brian Eno, and various fusion bands, to name a few.
I'm currently working on my first album, although I've composed and recorded for many years. I'm using the band name, Fusion Galaxy. I'm working with session musicians and I've found our Remote Sessions group to be helpful. I just recorded a local vocalist here in Phoenix, AZ.
