I started learning music in Campo Maior - Portugal, with the teacher Mrs. Maria Amélia Dias, at the age of nine years old.
Subsequently, I studied in the Regional School of Music of Covilhã, doing the two first years in just one academic year.
I moved to Badajoz, Spain, to continue my musical studies in the Superior School Music of Badajoz, specializing me in Piano, Composition and Instrumentation with the composer and conductor Juan Pérez Ribes. In the Seville’s School Music I studied folk music. In the Madrid’s Real School Music (= “Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid”), Spain, where I studied Gregorian Chant with the professor Ismael Fernández de la Cuesta and Orchestra’s conduction.
I studied also Orchestra’s Conduction with the conductor Francisco Navarro Lara, in Córdoba - Spain.
Since 1996, I am the founder and the conductor of the “Orquesta Luso – Española”, which is formed by young Portuguese and Spanish musicians, all of them, pupils of the Badajoz’ School Music.
This orchestra has the following composition: 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 1 trumpet and strings.
The orchestra’s repertoire goes from the Baroque Music to the Contemporary Music.
Of it’s repertoire the times and styles are part workmanships of all, since “Baroque Music” until the a “Contemporary Music”.
I have composed to all kind of ensembles, instrumental and vocal, since piano works, choir, chamber music (duets, trios, quartet, quintet, sextet…), chamber orchestra’s works, symphony orchestra’s, soloist with symphony orchestra. I have opened some works in Spain and Portugal.
I collaborate frequently with some Portuguese and foreign musicians like the soprano Jacinta Almeida and the pianist Amadeu d’Oliveira. To them, he has composed some works to piano and soprano, piano solo and soprano, piano and symphony orchestra. He has also composed works for “Duo Kisboa”, duet of harp and flute, Noemí Martínez and António Bordoñez. As like as with the Mexican pianist Manuel Escalante and the Spanish clarinettist Alfonso Pineda, the Ensemble Palhetas Duplas” the Portuguese pianist Maria do Céu Camposinhos, the Italian wind quintet “I Cinque Elementi” and the uruguayan soprano Cristina Santi.
I am member of “Asociación de Compositores de Extremadura”, since its foundation.
In 2003, he was guest orator by the “Ateneo de Badajoz” - Spain, speaking about “Músicos de um e outro lado da raia” (Musicians of one and another side of the border).
We recently initiated a new cultural project: a choir and an Orff orchestra with her students and a “ensemble” dedicated to contemporary music.
