I studied music at the University of Minnesota, Duluth and have a passion for Brass music. I have played with many ensembles on trombone and euphonium. Composition is something I enjoy and desire to improve in.

Percussion there are tons of options e.g. dipping a small gong in water, using a bow on a vibraphone, cymbal on a timp there are so many options brass bands have such a colourful variation the options are endless.

What about percussion, I think that this opens some possibilities.

Good points and I agree that mutes can help in coloring the music. Sometimes I feel constrained by the range of the band, although modern bands seem to be extending this area, but there are limits. What do you think?

I agree that the use of different mutes can really help with making the color or changing the color of the music.
