I am happy so far with the sound of this brass piece, but it has several key changes throughout. I don’t know when to use accidentals and when to change key signatures. I have put it all in Ab for…Continue

This is an arrangement of a quirky little piece by P. Tchaikovsky.I am not sure what liturgical setting it would fit into, but I was smitten by it.CampyContinue

CHORAL: Bleak Midwinter

I have combined an acapella choral arrangement of Holst's melody to backup a treble solo singing a counter melody. I have taken some liberties with Rossetti's lyrics to bolster the idea that the solo…Continue

I am happy so far with the sound of this brass piece, but it has several key changes throughout. I don’t know when to use accidentals and when to change key signatures. I have put it all in Ab for now. Are there any guidelines/rules for this type of notation?Any other comments will be welcome.Thoughts please.CampySee More

Antiphonal Choral "Ave Maria"

The antiphonal choirs juxtapose and intermingle the original Latin text with an English translation. In this original composition, liberal use of contemporary chords is still pleasing to the ear as they resolve. It has not been performed yet, so I do not know how the lyrics will sound as written. I thought it would be theoretically interesting.Campy See More

Choral "Gloria, Alleluia"

For my first upload, I am presenting a choral  SATB setting of the  Gloria text.I used as my musical inspiration a small string fugue by Anthony Hendrickson.I was enthralled with his motifs and it fit my idea of the text. The professional choir with which I sing (Vesper Chorale in South Bend, IN) will hopefully be premiering it this fall.CampySee More

About Me (MUST be more than 10 words to be approved):
I have been a professional singer for over 50 years. I have sung in professional choirs all my life. In the twilight of my years (I am age 65) I have been struck with a passion to compose. My choral singing experience and private and independent study has taught me what my idea of good choral music should sound like. Thankfully modern notation software such as Sibelus, has enabled me to put on paper the musical ideas rattling around in my head. I have uploaded many pieces to SibeliusMusic (now ScoreExchange) and have enjoyed the feedback from other composers..
I frequently meet with with Lee Dengler who has published many choral pieces over the years. We discuss my work in hopes of creating compositions that will be worthy of performance and publication.
I was excited to find this Forum. I welcome the opportunity to have my work heard and critiqued and am looking forward to experiencing the works of others
