About Me:
I am 20 years old. I've been composing creative poetry and contemporary instrumental music for a little over 3 years. I'm still learning a lot, but I have a passion for this music, and will continue to work hard at it. I sample a lot in my work (a lot of you will despise that, but you'll be alright), and I play a little of the piano (I hope). All of my work is edited and produced on my laptop. I know it's different, but let me know what you think of my music. I appreciate all the feedback and constructive criticism I've gotten on this site. To all of you out here, continue to make good music from the heart! Go to the myspace!
This is just a quick note to tell everyone to visit my myspace page if you want to hear my music. I'm going to get back into the act of being active in this forum. So I apologize if I've been slow to get things replied to or handled on here. More updates later everyone!
I went to your Myspace page for a hot minute. Interesting use of a classic Mahalia Jackson performance. (Mahalia is one of my all-time favorites. I've got a couple songs in the Music Dissection forum. Check them out if you get the chance. I will visit your Myspace page again to listen to more of your music and would love to make your acquaintance.
Hello Stephen. Pleasantly surprised by your music. Very fresh and cool treatment of the classics. It has a nice comical touch to it and sound damn good and proffesional. I think you have a special talent here mate. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the comps on my stuff but DO NOT be ashamed by my comment. I only ask because I can tell you have it in you. Do right by yourself and make it happen. I know you can do it!

Stephen,
Well deserved applause to you. Your modernization (is that a word?) of the classics are uplifting and a very nice welcome. Especially for a 19 year old! Please keep it up as the newer generations morph the popular music into society today. Kind of reminds me of what Alicia Keys did with piano. Do you have any original comps? Something from your heart with an incredible melody?
I like your music--if find it to me very unique and interesting. I also like the fact that you are very innovative with your samples. By the way, welcome to Young Composers!
I was wondering...is the pic that says "I hate 90% of my generation's music" something that was submitted into a Post Secret book? It kind of looks like it. I have to admit--I'm not very pleased with the majority of the music released lately. The standards have gone very low.
I think the Holiday experience depends a lot on who your family is. There's always some disagreements and resentments, but there's love too. That's life. I've learned not to take any of it too seriously or too personally. ...There's always good food and classic Christmas movies. If my family was 90% rotten, then the Holidays would be bleak, but that's not the case. Have you gotten a decent keyboard?
Stephen - great stuff. Especially liking 'The Door Closes' ... then again, I like Mansell ... great beats, original approaches ... you'll do well! Have a great new year.
