"Creative" quantity vs. quality.... is it just a phase, or.... ?

I've been struggling with my place in the creative world of late, and have been reflecting on the following:

"Maybe one day soon, when technology makes everyone sound good, sounding good won't be what matters anymore."

- Conor "Freff" Cochran, from his column in Keyboard Magazine, late 1980's

"I'm fascinated by the almost fetish and addictive need to communicate aurally and visually; witness the decline in the quality of communication in favor of quantity."

So I listened to your newest piece, and I can say that although I didn't enjoy it at first, I really got into the rhythm and melodic phrasing =)

Thanks Carlos! A friend of mine liked it so much, he cut it on his album.... I am glad to reach a place where other people are recording my music!

The milonga has taken a while for me to get back to it, but I have a theme, so now I need to plot the form and accompaniment; hopefully I can devote more time to it since the kids are back in school

Gracias, mi amigo!

Hi Scott, loved Film Noir! Reminded me films from the 50s. You´ve got the right mood. How is your milonga going on?

Best

wow - that Spirits of the Dead improv is stunning - wonderful! I love how it breaks into a groove after starting out so eerily, but it doesn't feel like a jarring move. Great stuff! The 'Sith'd' film was a great laugh, too!

Cheers,

Hey Scott!

Thanks a lot for checking that out and your comments! Frankly, I was shocked that it sounded so big. I got lambasted the next day for all those octave doublings, but it came out well nonetheless.

I just saw you post regarding the survey you did - that's amazing! Thanks so much for sharing that. I'll be by later and check out your tunage.

Cheers!
