"Hi Gav, Thank You for your kind comments. Yes indeed it has a contemporary sound and is not what I usually compose.  The piece floats freely and with that I wanted to create this sense of natural wildness where things are not structured and…"

"Hi Saul,io This piece seems to me a standout amongst the pieces I have seen you post here. It's pretty and has a floating, ambient quality to it which I quite like. It also seems to have more of a rooting in our times than I normally see in…"

Saul Gefen replied to Saul Gefen's discussion Three Ancient Jewish Melodies
"Thank you Tim for your comments. yes these are original melodies/compositions. I have tried to create this feel of antiquity but I am living at the present and in the western world, so that also influenced the music. As I said we can only try, but…"

"Saul these are excellent! I know you are proud of your heritage and have good reason to be. Are these actual Jewish tunes? The reason I ask is they seem to have a very western feel to them and I ( maybe mistakenly) expect a more middle eastern…"

Three Ancient Jewish Melodies

Hi,These are Three Ancient Jewish Melodies for Harp. Jerusalem is the epicenter of Jewish worship, faith, spirituality, community, history, and vision of the future. It is in these ancient chambers that the Prophets of Israel prophesied for a future where all of mankind will find unity and solace. For me personality it is my favorite city in the world. The feeling of standing at the western wall where within these gigantic stones the Temple services took place some 3000 years ago, first in…See More

Timothy Smith replied to Saul Gefen's discussion Against All Odds
"Very nicely done. Even though this was referred to as mood music, the piano part has some interesting complexity and would stand well on it's own. The only difference between something with a more classical bent would be a counter or…"
