About Me:
Hi there! My name is Ronnie Doyle, a 23-year old freelance film composer from Wexford, Ireland. I'm a BA Film student at Aberystwyth University, Wales, UK and heavily involved in composing music for independent film and concert performances. I've written full length feature scores for 2 independent films already, as well as several short film projects. My earliest musical experiences came at the age of 4 or 5 when I began singing in school ensembles and choirs. At 11, I was selected to perform alongside 13 others in a children's chorus that performed as part of Respighi's classic opera 'La Fiamma' at the Wexford Festival Opera in 1997. Aside from this, however, I have no formal musical training of any kind and am entirely self-taught. I just know that there's sooo much music inside me screaming to get out! If you have time, please stop by and check out my music and feel free to comment! Great to meet you all!

The piece follows the despair of a lone astronaut, severed from his ship and floating aimlessly into the dark nothingness of space. As he heads slowly toward his impending doom, the music echoes his inner despair, the sights and supernovas he sees as he goes and his last memories of family and Earth. The concert will be held at the Rogers Memorial Library, 91 Coopers Farm Road, Southampton, New York on December 6th 2009. Admission to the event is FREE.

(2010) 'Ancient Lovers' - a re-performance of the Love Theme from 'Emer & CuChulainn - A Tale of Love and War' for clarinet, piano and cello - performed by The Cross Island Ensemble, New York, USA. Date and venue TBA.

This coming year sees me collaborate closely with The Cross Island Ensemble, composing a number of short concert works to be performed by them. It's a very exciting project and I'm sure one which be fruitful also!

SCORING 'SEALED FATES' - 2009

A while ago, the good folks at Timewarp Films, located in Maryland, USA offered me the chance to score their upcoming suspense thriller 'Sealed Fates', an offer which I gladly accepted! The movie intertwines three films with the one fear: claustrophobia. The first story ('Man's Best Friend') is of an obsessive-compulsive recluse, Charles Vanderhaven, with a deep-seeded murderous streak. The second story ('Collections') is of a hitman on one last job before he retires, but it all goes sour....and… Continue

Hi Ronnie, your music is fantastic! Dark, deep, breathtaking. Just now I am listening "Twisted Logic", "Brick By Brick" and cannot stop listenng when the next tracks begin, so many unconscious images are rising...

That's good to know. Recently I have been looking for a good program for mixing and playback other than Garage Band, which is why I ask. I have also been looking for a new computer and am unsure whether or not to get a mac or pc because I do not know what the best music editing programs are for each and how they'd compare to each other. Do you know of any other good programs?

Hey, I like your music. Listened to the Sealed Fates score. Nice job! You really have a keen ear for texture and color, two often neglected but essential elements in music. What program do you use may I ask?

Hey Ronnie,

I'm listening to some of your songs and I'm definitely liking it. I'd be interested to know, what software do you use? I use Finale 2010 to score my music, then I import as midi to Logic Express and use East West samples for the final product. How about you?
