Gear List / Studio Setup
As of 2009, I'm using a 20 processor farm (32 and 64 bit) of networked and sample synced computers containing commercial soft synths, fx, samplers and sample libraries from the following fine companies- Steinberg, Spectrasonics, FXpansion, Vienna Instruments, East West, Best Services, Arturia, Native Instruments, Tone2, reFX, Camel Audio, Rob Papen, Sonivox, Korg, IK Multimedia, not to mention literally hundreds of obscure and wonderful free VST instruments and fx, all categorized by likely use.
This system is linked to 16 pre-amp mic inputs, 8 of which are in a sound proofed room for recording amplified instruments and vocals. When I say sound proofed, I mean, I can record a 200 watt Marshall Major and it doesn't bother anyone. Well I have to wear 20 decibel reduction ear plugs, but that aside . . .
I have a variety of properly maintained guitars and amps (boutique, vintage and lovely Chinese bargain variety). Lots of vintage, modern and boutique foot pedals. Sound wise I can go from 1954 to post-apocalyptic Nu Metal with no problem. My favorite would be about 1972, but I do what the client wants.
Keyboards are my old trusty Korg Karma and a Korg PAX1-PRO that I use as my master.

The beauty of the Fender Stratocaster is that one of Leo Fender's foremost considerations in it's prototype design in early 1954 was that it be easily serviceable, and it remains so to this day. You can't say that about a lot of other modern versions of co…

I'm writing to you today from Sofia, Bulgaria. I took an extended vacation here, (1) because I needed it and (2) to study more closely some of my favorite music in the world- Bulgarian folk music.
At the Composer's Union in Sofia, I discovered the mother load of knowledge regarding Bulgarian Folk music- a two volume anthology of folk musicians by the legendary composer and writer, Todor Bakalov. It's a wonderful comendium, because instead of being like a dry textbook, it's a rich collection of…

Hi there! I'm new to this forum, and haven't had much time yet to look around at all your profiles yet and listen to your music, but I'm very much looking forward to it. :-)
In the mean time, I've been busy working on some test projects to work out the kinks with various components in my system. For those of you who are into reading about gear and how people use it, this is going to be the main focus of my blog.
About a month ago I purchased BFD 2, which was a new release from fxpansion in Dec…
