"Farewell" (Rise of the Dynasty)

Hello all,I just bought Cinesamples' Tina Guo Cello the other day and thought I would revisit one of my older themes inspired from Tan Dun's film scores.  It is part of a film score series I composed called "Rise of the Dynasty".  I definitely recommend the VST as it was very easy to use and sounds great with various articulations to suit your piece.  Let me know what you guys think! It's a short piece, and I mainly wanted to get to use the cello to anchor the main melody, leading into a full…See More

"While the percussion may seem rather loud, it is intentional.  It is a more modern take on the story and the intent was to keep the essential traditional instruments to ground the theme.  Thanks for the listen - I am intending on making a…"

"Epic music is not my thing, but you have done a good job with the various instruments, and the impression of the biblical period is convincing. The only criticism is that it may be a bit too epic for this particular part of the story. The big drums…"

"Yeah I definitely want to explore the theme a bit more and perhaps use some more of the microtonal phrasing - good call."

"I like the Moses Returns with the exotic instrument sounds. East West is cool for that and you make good use of it.  I would like to hear more of the microtonal eastern phrasing on this, the grace notes you included have some of that character…"

"Thanks for the listen Felix.  I like the idea of the choir building up a bit more - still a bit new to the choir VST and am still tinkering around with it as I just got it."

"I can't really say anything bad about the "Moses Returns" track. I could see this in a movie scene from like "the mummy" or something ^^ You could have made the track a little longer i guess. Maybe with some male choir…"

"Moses Returns" (Biblical Epic)

Hello all,I have just finished composing this track after a longgggg hiatus from making music. I have always loved biblical epics and their scores and wanted to do my own take on Exodus/Old Testament. Here is the latest track:https://soundcloud.com/renan-javier/moses-returns(I used the following plug-ins - mainly from EastWest: Duduk (silk), Zourna (Ra), Ney Flute (Silk), Hollywood Choirs, Stormdrum 3 - the brass is from…See More

My name is Renan Javier Cabrera and I have loved composing ever since I was a little boy. Although I composed, I didn't get into film music until I watched "Les Miserables" (98' version) and the score was one of the most beautiful things I had ever heard. I then plunged into the world of film music and instantly became fans of Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, James Newton Howard, John Williams, Marco Beltrami and many more. I would say my style is to try and create grand and memorable themes by using a wide assortment of instruments. My favorite go-to instruments are brass, strings, and piano. My true passion is composing for film and creating works that pay homage to some of my favorite composers.
