"Nice soundtrack, overall good, but that moment at 1:24 when main theme enters with cello is extraordinary, sent shivers down my spine. I had wanted a continuation of this concept. A negative soundtrack effect is the drumming. To me, the piece would…"

"Appreciate the feedback!  My biggest weakness is definitely the mixing and am still struggling with it.  I will keep trying to tinker with it as I'm not sure if it's more of an instrumentation issue than strictly mixing - perhaps…"

"The mix fails you at about 1:30 in. There is too much noise going on and the sound comes off as super limited.  The instrumentation sounds good, sounds like top notch film scoring sample packs, some percussion packs and a nice strings sampling…"

Conceptual track for Disney's Mulan

Mulan ThemeHello all,I just finished composing a conceptual piece for this year's Mulan (if it ever gets released!).  I am working on creating a concept soundtrack in the meantime based on the trailer and I had a lot of fun playing with various ethnic instruments for this one.  I used the cello to anchor the main theme backed by orchestral strings. Here it is! Enjoy:Track: …See More

"Farewell" (Rise of the Dynasty)

Hello all,I just bought Cinesamples' Tina Guo Cello the other day and thought I would revisit one of my older themes inspired from Tan Dun's film scores.  It is part of a film score series I composed called "Rise of the Dynasty".  I definitely recommend the VST as it was very easy to use and sounds great with various articulations to suit your piece.  Let me know what you guys think! It's a short piece, and I mainly wanted to get to use the cello to anchor the main melody, leading into a full…See More

About Me (Must include at least one paragraph of biographical information about you as a composer) - blank or minimal answers on this line will cause your request to be rejected. Include a link to your website if you have one.
My name is Renan Javier Cabrera and I have loved composing ever since I was a little boy. Although I composed, I didn't get into film music until I watched "Les Miserables" (98' version) and the score was one of the most beautiful things I had ever heard. I then plunged into the world of film music and instantly became fans of Hans Zimmer, Ennio Morricone, James Newton Howard, John Williams, Marco Beltrami and many more. I would say my style is to try and create grand and memorable themes by using a wide assortment of instruments. My favorite go-to instruments are brass, strings, and piano. My true passion is composing for film and creating works that pay homage to some of my favorite composers.
