Thanks for the link and opinion on libraries, Ray. Sorry for the late response, was attending to holiday/ family matters. Hope yours was well.

Hi, always nice to see you drop by.

I'm composing a happy tune right now just for you, Ray. I'll call it "The red herring called Ray".

Thanks for the specific recommendations Ray. Believe it or not, through all of my research and inquiries, I somehow must have gotten a good consensus on the right set up, because the system I'm putting together is what you described precisely, OS, RAM, etc. I'm most definitely going with Cubase 5 as well, but I haven't made the purchase yet. Strongly favouring VSL SE over EW Platinum at the moment, but I've been vacillating on that issue for a month or so, and any thoughts in that area would be useful. I've held off on the purchase of software while I gather as much info and input as possible.

Hi Ray, thanks a lot for the welcome.
How are you?
I wonder if you could help, I'm in dire need of a some nearfield monitors (working on headphones at the minute) but I'm on a budget and I wondered if you could recommend any inexpensive ones that you know of that have a flat (as possible for the money) frequency response. I was wondering if the M Audio Studio Pro 3 's are any good, or even if Studio Spares' 'own-brand' Seiwin monitors are any good. What would you recommend?
Regards,
Oliver

Battle of the Drones is great. Can you share what it's composed of (instrumentation-wise), for those of us newbies looking in that direction?

Ah, didn´t realise you could add to the page directly - uploaded a fughetta now, possibly posting this in the dissection forum later. Will upload some more piano works too!

Thanks for the help and welcome.

Hi Ray,

Deepest apologises that I have yet to put my compositions up, I have had a lot of things going on, and cannot always get on the internet. As I hope you can appreciate, it is very daunting putting up compositions when one is new to it and there are so many fantastic people on this forum. I hope it is not a problem that I do not post for the time being, partly because I am nervous and also because my life doesn't ot allow me too much time to myself and therefore cannot spend as much time on here as I would like.
Hope this is all ok?
Best Wishes
Lucy
