" Shadoeland" is a musical setting of Frank Ettenberg's photo of his painting, "Shadowland". My setting uses Kyma grains,Akai percussive color and Ilio vowels , and a DX&IID texture.  I improvised the melodic material and counter pointed it with Record.

Hi Norbert, thanks for asking.  I haven't found a violinist yet, but I've been really busy.  I decided to change the name to Nocturne, sort of a cover-all name because I can't think of anything else.  I'm a bit nervous about getting the "right" violinist, never having done such a thing before.

Thank you, Norbert.  I gave it this title because it was to accompany a reading of Rilke's poem "Lament," but I do think you're right that isn't quite what the piece is expressing.  And I do need to venture out into my music community and find some reliable instrumentalists.

Hi Norbert, thanks for your friend request. Your Resurrection, with these portamento clusters (if I am not mistaken) is very interesting and keeping attention, I believe this is a genre called Lounge misic, or Ambient. Is it improvisation as well? Impressing!

Hey,

I enjoyed your musical compositions.  Silverlake reminds me of Vangelis.  When you compose, do you have preconceived notions as to what you will write or is it an experiment with sound until you come across something that peaks your interest to develop further.
