Any of you guys had placements from music supervisor?
I've heard really great things about the way they conduct their business but not much in the way of actual placements

Cool! Is that the cues you were writing at the moment? How did it go, success?
Oh no man!! I think the music overall is a great combo with the program, it makes it much more dramatic, without the music, some guy selling camels might seem a bit dull!!
I've just been to Guildhall for an open day today! How come you particulary like guildhall??
I went on youtube last night and thought the music for the doc was great :D I'll check that this other website in a bit!
That's what they say, hopefully if I get to study in London that's when the real networking will begin!!
So are you a registered composer on Screened Music?
I've heard of that! I'm going to see if I can find any clips. Is some of the music on your page from it, or have you not put it up yet?
You hear that a lot when reading about film composers, how they get given one little chance and then do it forever!!
I play guitar (yet another guitarist, I know!) and I've applied to Trinity College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Guildhall and Royal College.
Is kingston Uni in London?
Wow! So are you working your way up then? What was the documentary?
At the moment i'm just waiting to audition to the conservatoires in London, hopefully i'll start next September!! So basically I have nothing worth mentioning haha! All im doing is studying...
Did you study anywhere?
A lot of film music, particularly Powell and James Newton Howard. And I try my best to keep an open mind and let the influences come from all over the shop!!
So what kind of work do you do? (I noticed you said music was your main income. Which isn't suprising after listening to your tunes!)
Wow!! Really cool you like my stuff ;)
Thanks.
The sample you speak of is incuded in the EWSOPlatPlus. I used it because I was looking to get that heart renching sadness into it. I think it's pretty cool and glad you agree!
I have to admit to being a little underwhelmed with VSL, but as SO many of us are using it I guess it's up to me to find the best way to use it.
LA Strings sounds pretty cool though!
I might check that out once I've been payed!!
Loving your work mate! Your production is immence ; )
What packages are you using and how do you find them?
I've recently upgraded to EastWest, Vienna and Symphobia.
Still trying to get the best out of 'em!!!
I was reading your conversation with Anthony Wakefield as I too, am stuck in the Doc doldrums! It's all for retail, which is frustrating as what I'm really seeking are some broadcast credits!
However, It does pay extremley well! LOL
Cheers
Sean.
Quick reply Matthew. Something adrift with my upoad, as I was still waiting to receive the 'msg sent' confirmation. But you did get it, which is good to know.
Pub was indeed Royal Oak.
My writing? Have just contacted a film doc company, but have been told that my music`s unsuitable. Nice that isn`t it?!! I sent them mp3s 'Close Your Eyes' and 'Wish I`d said Hello'. They must be looking fer drum`n`bass. Well they can look elsewhere in that case :) But have just sold a couple of big band arr to Australia. And another publisher who already has something is now looking at other stuff of mine. And I`m trying to revise one or two things, which I find boring, boring, boring.
See ya,
A
