Definitely there is lack of high frequencies on the whole track. Try to experiment with various position of each experiment in the stereo space. Reverb also will add more space. Kick needs more presence and attenuation on lower frequencies around 40…
I think its somewhat common to use other footage for a _private_ reel, something that you might send to someone directly and explaining to them what it is. Its kind of taboo still, but not as bad as using it publicly on your website or something. I…
Thanks Scott :)
It is really helpful.
I agree with you, that I didn't like the fact if someone could use my work without permission. And I don't like at all idea of using someone else's work to prove your skills
You just know how the business is, it…
Do not ever assume you are doing anyone a 'favor' - you simply cannot use anything you don't own in a public forum/
broadcast, like YouTube. Ask yourself what would happen if a major corporation used your music in a game trailer

Hi guys.
I am sure most of you have more knowledge regarding this kind of things.
I am working on my Game industry oriented portfolio as a composer/sound designer.
The problem is that my first two game titles are still in development and I have not…
Hi Mariusz,
in response to your questions...
1. I think that live performance has a quality that cannot be replicated by machine, and that is the human quality. No two players will perform the same note the same way, or even the exact same way the…
1) Probably not, but its easier to imagine that the music is more emotionally intense if we see human musicians making the sounds.
2) N/A
3) The music doesn't express emotions. The listener brings as his/her experiences and emotions to the sonic eve…

Nice Les Paul. I had a LP Recording for many years as my main axe. My shoulder has never recovered. Now a nice shaped Strat does the job for me. Oh! just listening to "Tension" and I thought I heard 10cc's milk bottle roll. Great stuff!
Thank you. My computer is very old (bought it at a flea market). Some kind of off brand. I used to have a notation program called Voyetra which I tried to use, but the delay was so discombobulating, that I compeltely gave up. I am a pianist and a lot of what I'm writing right now is solo piano music. I'm currently working on a suite of pieces," Postcard from the Cumberlands" (the mountains where I live.) I'm going to post one of the pieces in my playlist now. It's called WAITING FOR SPRING. It's done with a Roland Fantom keyboard. I'm in a quandary. One of my friends says she likes the way it sounds, but another one says the piano does not sound real. Do you mind listening to it and telling me your opinion. I'm also interested in the new Roland V-Piano, supposed to be completely new technology. Do you know about that piano? Are you, also, a pianist by the way? Thanks, Mariusz. You are very kind to help a stranger, esp. one so far away! Martha
Hey, you're very kind to share your knowledge. I'm going to be building a new studio behind my house this summer and probably will be getting a computer...and some software. I guess my big puzzle is, how do you get the notes in the computer, do you have a keyboard attached to it. I'm sorry if this is a ditzy question. I know very little about computers, only wordprocesing and e-mail. Thanks again, Martha Maria
Oooh, you're good! Thanks for your compliment about my song 'God's Majesty'. I like that one myself. I'll definitely be checking out all your music. Have you heard of the composer Bjorn Lynne? He used to work for Team 17 and is a bit of a hero of mine. He wrote the theme for Worms!
Hi, Thanks for the friend add and the kind words. Hey, I listened to some of your music. I especially like the crusade, but I like all of it. Do you mind sharing what kind of programs you're using? I'm trying to figure out if I can learn to use a computer to compose....right now, I just play the stuff in front of a microphone. I'm very low tech. Thanks. Martha Maria
