Tempo and Key

I was taking into account Bach's tendency to use frequent, and rather dramatic, modulations.

Serialized Rhythms

I think it has potential, but I want to review any existing work on the concept before I lay any claim to originality.

Serializing all musical parameters, including duration is part of the 1960s movement called Total Serialism. Google for Stockhausen and you will find more information....

Interesting miniature. Did you consider adding contrasting pitches, e.g. a polyphony of these calculator sounds with crisp and fast twinkling bells a la telephone rings? In the coda (IMO) some quick passage with culmination is expected.

I was contemplating something like this a few months ago. that is, if it was feasible to write a fugue based on the following algorithm: Each note's duration is inversely tied to its pitch frequency. For example, the fifth below a tone would have a…

Is can surprisingly difficult for some of us to just take it easy and let your melodies breathe within a single tonal context. For inspiration, you could listen to Cool Jazz artists like Dave Brubeck or Jim Hall, any of the Classical era masters, or…

Very cool. I would have liked to see these, especially the second movement, to develop more. That being said, the structure of each piece is tight considering the short timeframe. Good climactic moments.

I have always been somewhat influenced by Schoenberg's "developing variation." I tend to start with a theme or set of themes, and just write from beginning to end. Not unlike Stephen King's method as described in On Writing. On the other hand, Webe…
