From my experience in mid-budget, it is done like this: -
Composer (plus assistant) produces digital mockup
Mockup is signed off by "powers that be"
Composer (and/or assistant)
1. take a copy of the project
2. quantize the copy quite hard
3. imp…
with a sequencer/DAW, no, quite right, quite impossible. you're not going to get a score which anyone can use by recording a real performance. Unless you're a robot, and you play in strictly quantized values. Any sequencer is translating the rhythm/…
Hi everyone,
I just uploaded the first movement of my 2nd symphony, the first three movements of my 1st string quartet, and a fragment of a Serenade for Strings and Winds.
Enjoy!

Hi Lennon, I am doing that task right now for a Richard Jacques game score! As ever, there will be different approaches to this, but I think mine is pretty efficient.
Once a composer has made a digital mock-up, all the notes exist as midi - basic,…
Hi,
I have a fairly good idea of what the process of film scoring looks like, but I just wanted to make sure i'm correct about this. After "pre-production" of the score (i.e. working out ideas with the director, recording digital mockups, etc), the…

About Me:
I'm an 18 year old pianist and composer. I write classical music in styles ranging from late classical to late romantic (1750 - 1900). I also spontaneously improvise music at the piano.
I just uploaded the first movement of my 2nd symphony, the first three movements of my 1st string quartet, and a fragment of a Serenade for Strings and Winds.
Far be it from me to suggest arrangements, but i would like to offer a suggestion to possibly see what some of your string quartets would sound like if a piano were used to play one if not all of the tracks.
I do realize they wouldn't be string quartets anymore, but listening to the music, I couldn't help but wonder. Great music regardless in my opinion.
Hi Lennon,
Thanks for the heads up on my offerings.
now.......
I'm afraid you have no choice but to write for this century as this is the century in which people will be listening.
If I google "18th century composers" your name will never be on that list.
Some here would pooh pooh 20th/21st century film score composers work as being a lesser art than classical. This of course is generalized nonsense. Most of them have studied and learned from the greats of the past in constructing harmony, orchestration, etc.
I'll keep looking forward to you developing your art.
