Jonathan Bartholomew (b. 1991) is an American composer, singer, and songwriter born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He was adopted at six days by Gary and Cheryl Bartholomew of Fort Worth and Philadelphia respectively.
Jonathan's interest in composition rose from his studies of voice and theory at Southern Adventist University through his colleague and friend, Ethan McGrath. He then undertook an apprenticeship with Dr. J. Bruce Ashton, an emeritus at SAU, learning composition techniques to further his skill. Jonathan moved to the Chattanooga area of Tennessee in 2015 where he studied composition under Dr. Jonathan McNair, a graduate of The Cleveland Institute for Music. Since then, Jonathan's works have been performed across The United States and abroad.
Jonathan holds two bachelor degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Music Theory and Literature, and a Bachelor of Music in Composition, the former from Southern Adventist University and the latter from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Jonathan hopes to receive his Masters of Music soon as well as earning a Doctorate of Musical Arts in the near future to inspire and profess eager future composers.
