Socrates Arvanitakis replied to Jaime Chirif Watanabe's discussion Short piece for guitar
"Although developed on a single motivic idea (at least two thirds of it, I thought), I found it quite imaginative/inventive and very idiomatic for the instrument. Monophonic for the most part, the chordal playing is well placed and comes as natural…"

Jaime Chirif Watanabe replied to Tyler Hughes's discussion Sonata No. 1
"I like this. It reminds me a lot of Ligeti's piano music. It has that kind of movement in the inner voices between the low keys and the melody, which is nice. It also has that kind of harmonic density also found in Bartok. The score seems fine…"

DriscollMusick replied to Jaime Chirif Watanabe's discussion The old Siorakidsok (for quintet)
"Although there is not a lot of harmonic motion here, the rhythmic variety keeps it fresh.  I enjoyed listening. It's unclear to me, though, what sort of sound you are seeking in the vocal line, as performed by real singers?  Are you…"
