I got some devastating news this week. My friend Andy Hughes sadly died at the weekend. He was someone who had an enormous influence on my musicality and my studio engineering. Furthermore large sections of the UK music community won’t know what a luminary they have lost - a completely overlooked producer / arranger / [...]

Recently I was looking for permission to use Creep by Radiohead on my new album Reflections. One of the writers credited on the track is legendary singer/songwriter Albert Hammond who responded to my arrangement of Creep:

Nice choice of instruments!
Thank you very much for your nice comment. Your music is wonderful! 'Gothic Overture' is my favorite one.

Your work sounds great here, both in composition and production.
A level in expertise of which most should aspire if they want to be professional composers in a commercial world.
Thanks for sharing.

thank you for the nymanesque comment, it seems after he composed
'the heart asks pleasure' he forever owns the aminor chord (add 9th)...
i hope in 'bord de la mer' you might have noticed each time i come back to the a minor chord, it's from a different place, first dminor, a major, even emajor and eminor...
i love nyman's obscure 'zinc piano' and 'enemy zero, with the piece 'love', and the cook, thief and wife music...
thank you for friendship

Happy Birthday and thanks for introducing me to CF.
Great stuff. LOVE the Waltz and Overture! Reminds me of Elfman. I'm very impressed!
