Soliloquy !

Soliloquy has been #1 Classical for 3 days now.
In the past, I had promoted a work, but it only remained on the top for one day...
I am in uncharted waters here... And new fans in NewZealand and Sicily!

I hate vanity posts, but, as I say... I am in uncharted waters...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well Soliloquy slipped to second behind a symphonic band performance of a piece by this Bach fellow.... LOL 3 days at #1 was great!

Many of my works have a story behind them, but I do not want to overwhelm folks with a bunch of dry verbage... If there is a piece in what I have submitted that anyone wants an explanation for, post a request here, and I will reply...

Thanks

Hi Edward. I've been listening to "The Pillars of Bouryngsleigh", a beautifully crafted piece of work which invoked (as Per-Erik Rosqvist said) an image of an unknown place. For me, I felt it was the highlands of Scotland or maybe Norway. What was the inspiration for this particular work?

Hi Edward, thanks for the invite. Once I can convince everyone to go home (ahh! - the joy of christmas!) I will certainly have a good listen to your work

Hello Edward
Thanks for the invitation :)
I have been listening to "The Pillars of Bouryngsleigh" and "Curious Day", they have a very particular style that makes them easyly recognisible for the ear.
The first one sounds intriguing to me! there is a very well defined atmosphere involving the whole track that sometimes lightens its texture until it recalls something similar to innocence (subjective perception of course)

Hi!

Got your mail, and have nothing better to do listening to the Pillars. I can't really comment on it in a "erudite"manner, but these types of sound structures/landscapes I really enjoy..

What is your inspiration here? It sounds coherent though you select notes and harmonies that are not trivial (to me). To me this is a perfect depiction of some pillars somewhere, a place I've never heard of, but must be truly breathtaking ;)
Really good!

Curious day didn't work as well for me, at a first listen. The idea of "chopping of melodies" (that I think should go on for another 1/4 of a bar or so ;) Nothing important, I'm probably just narrowminded.

But it is "harmonious", though the scale must be something odd?. And has a calming effect :)

Nice work!

Hi Edward, thanks for commenting on my song. I am new and just figuring out how to navigate here. Taking a listen to some of your compositions. Very nicely done. I think I may be out of my league here. You guys are well beyond my skills.

Cheers
Shad

Thank you for sharing your Cloud Symphony! I like the beginning of Clouds IV,,,,nice opening.... very interesting motifs,,,,and I like the bit of dissonance later on. I also like how you have used the timpani in the opening of Clouds III. The harp is lovely and I like how you use it to build tension with the horns.... The string parts speak to me as well. Well done! Keep Creating!!:)
