Edgar Arens is a Russian composer living in Moscow.
He was born in 1976 to a family of performers. His father was an actor in the theatre and his mother was an opera singer. He began playing the piano when he was four years old, starting to compose only two years later. Although he never studied formally, he is a highly accomplished composer and musician. After many years of working with religious music, he became struck by great Hollywood soundtracks and started to work in this direction. His favorite musicians were Ronald Stein, Bernard Herrmann, John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, James Newton Howard, Danny Elfman, Dario Marianelli, Klaus Badelt, Hans Zimmer, Thomas Newman, Howard Shore, James Horner, Harry Gregson-Williams, John Powell, Trevor Rabin and so on. Their music challenged him, distracted him and forced him in a certain definite musical direction.
In addition to his love of these composers, he was simultaneously drawn to popular music, but wished to add a certain musical depth to a contemporary music, rich in various genres, but often musically and lyrically shallow.

Thanks very much for friendship Edgar ... I like this opportunity to share our worlds...
The Life of a man is made up of a series of dreams which write our history, as well as our children, who then start to write their own. I decided to continue writing mine as soon as I began to dream in early childhood. One doesn't need to stop the journey along the way.
It is necessary to believe that the stars which light our way will never go out, and to continue to follow our dreams which inspire us in the most beautiful moments of our lives. If not, why is my star helping me to write so many fine melodies? I composed a suite for my dream,
called " Melody for an Oscar", and I am convinced that one day someone will help me to reach for that Oscar in Hollywood, which I have always imagined in my dreams. No matter what, my dreams have enhanced my musical creativity, and for that I am thankful.
