Daz Shields is a singer/songwriter, pianist and drummer whose first album 'Heaven Only Knows' was released in 1986 and included the haunting track 'Winds of Time'. In 1988, he released the self-published 'Just Another Love Song' which received airplay on BBC Radio throughout the UK and on Capital Radio in London. After setting up his own music publishing company, Daz started to concentrate on songwriting and producing. 1993 brought the opening of Go Crazy Recording Studios at Daz's home, and witnessed the albums 'Haunt Me' by brother Chris Shields and 'In Solitary Splendour' by sister Sandra Shields. In 1994, he came out of the studio to perform his own new material at The Original Songwriters, at The Orange in West Kensington, London. In the same year Daz met Kezi Silverstone and wrote and recorded a new demo album with her, including the tracks 'I know why', 'Love Hurts' and 'What Am I Gonna Do'. He also recorded his own 2nd album in this year, entitled 'Where Is Home?'. This album was entirely written, performed, recorded and produced by Daz himself. In 1997, he performed drums and backing vocals for his brother Chris' second album 'In A Melody'. Daz tirelessly recorded with Kezi Silverstone between 1995 & 2000 with various producers, namely Stuart Epps (Elton John & Robbie Williams) & Ian Catt (St Ettienne & Trembling Blue Stars) learning his trade and fine tuning his art. The year 2000 brought live performances with Kezi Silverstone at The Borderline in London, Chris Shields at The Clocktower in Croydon and his own material at The Original Songwriters in London. 2001 brought another studio album from his brother Chris, entitled 'Sky Turn Blue', on which Daz performs backing vocals, keyboards and drums, together with sell out performances at the Clocktower in Croydon. 2006 brought the release of Kezi Silverstone's album 'Whatever It Takes', on which Daz had written the track 'I Know Why' and has co-produced the track 'Love Hurts' with Dan Frampton (Lionel Richie / Westlife / Dido). In 2007, Daz built a studio in his new home, set up his equipment and started writing new material. March 2008 brought up the 26th anniversary of Daz playing drums in T.F.G. Daz had been playing drums & percussion alongside Mark Humphrey since March 1982 and their light hearted approach to covering all types of music was appreciated all over the south of England until the untimely death of Mark on March 31st 2008. Daz found it hard to move on musically, due to Mark's passing but, in time, knew that Mark would be saying, Keep Going Mucker! Daz is now heavily into his studio work, both songwriting and producing with various artists, including Simon Tauber (Gina G, Atomic Kitten), and is currently working as Composer, with Kezi Silverstone, on the soundtrack of Legacy. A new film by Stephen Savage and Lunatopia Productions. www.lunatopia.com , to be released January 2010. Watch this space!! Daz's track 'I know why’ from Kezi Silverstone's album ‘Whatever it takes’ is also to feature on Pas Media movie, Secrets Kept.
