Hi David!
firstly I use :
PC No 1
8 gig of Ram
Core duo processing
Windows Vista(The upgraded one!)
Sibelius 5
EastWest Symphonic Orchestra Platinum Play
PC No 2
Sibelius 4
Garritan Personal Orchestra
The two PCs are linked by a shared drive
For some reason, I prefer to write using sibelius 4 with GPO and then I record using Sibelius 5 with EWQLSO.
I then post produce using Adobe Audition 3
I still haven't got all the sound sets that I want, but I am getting there!
The technical side of it all annoys me because all I want to do is write, so I have to put a lot of effort into the technical. This is probably why I'm always revisiting pieces to redo them!!
Bye the way, there's a man called Jonathan Loving that works with sound set editors for different players and he is very good at what he does. This helps a lot when someone gives you a bit of a leg up (so to speak)
I hope this helps my friend?
Bye for now...
