Musical Beginnings
Born Daniel James Hill in Wales, UK, D.J. Hill officially started creating music in 2010 after experimenting with music software in his spare time. He primarily produced G-Funk and West Coast hip hop in his early years, but, as his talent increased, he began to create a broader variety of music styles which eventually led him to innovate his own experimental element to his instrumental music.

Compositional Style
Most of his work incorporates an experimental, elegant and urban style with a fusion-crossover of multiple music genres and considers the outcome of music to be more sophisticated when freely experimenting and using diverse sounds in a composition. D.J. Hill’s music is absorbed around setting a mood for different events, sequences or scenes that occur in a media production – whether the music is suitable for eerie horror, fast-paced chase scenes, fight scenes, simple ambience or stealth gaming action, D.J. Hill’s music can always represent the intention of film, TV, multimedia and game producers.

Audio Engineering
Since his time in university, D.J. Hill generated a profound interest in the sound post-production means of TV, film and video games. After honing much of his mixing and mastering skills from previous musical work, he now offers such expertise to musicians and artists.

Musical Influences
D.J. Hill's influences originate from a variety producers specialising in different genres such as Scott Storch, DJ Quik, Dr Dre, Paul Hardcastle, Warren G, Jesper Kyd, Lorne Balfe, Two Steps from Hell, Brian Tyler, Kevin MacLeod, Harry Gregson Williams, Tangerine Dream and many more. He grew up admiring the profound rap music of Ice Cube; inspiring him to create his own music and to explore its diversity. He states, “Ice Cube is by far the best lyricist and rapper out there. He has been able to express great views that many other artists of today cannot even attempt to emphasise”.
