Hi, I've recently brought myself up to 2011 by joining Twitter and was wondering who else is on Twitter? Very keen to link with people (or 'follow' as they call it!) on here through Twitter too!…Continue

I find something extremely annoying when composing music and I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same problem! I don't even think there's really an answer to it, but, hey, you are all very…Continue

Hi all,
It's been a while since I've posted anything on here (blame the inspirational block!). Just to say how important and valued feedback from others is on music. It's funny how sometimes you know that something isn't quite right with the composition you're working on, but you think..."Ah, it'll pass" and then someone picks up on the very point you know hasn't been given your 100%! It's very much appreciated though and after this happens, it gives you the push you need to…

I've always loved music and about a year ago I decided to give composing music a shot. I had no idea as to whether I would actually be able to put even a simple piece of music together and so when searching for the right software to use, I wasn't going to spend a huge amount of money. After trying out a few demos, I decided to start with Finale Allegro (the smaller version of the real thing) and for a while it did the job. The more I put music together, the more I'm seeing the limits of the…

This is just a little intro about myself on my first day at Composers' Forum!
This is the fist time I've joined anything like this and I must say how impressed I am by the content of this website and how easy it is to network with everyone here. Great stuff! I'm very new to this composing thing (work in health statistics during the day!) and have quite a limited background in music,…

Thanks for the comments on my stuff. I like your stuff, but I think perhaps you should invest in some better/stronger percussion - just listening to PixieDreams it sounded a little mechanical. Maybe one reason you like my stuff is because I feel I have been influenced quite a bit by Hans Zimmer.
I'm glad you dig my stuff, Beth! To be honest, I wish I could write more "classical" sounding pieces like your music. I've recently started trying to write for smaller ensembles, but It grows into something huge and over the top. My new piece "Prepare for Space Launch" (check it out if you like "epic" music).. started out with just a simple string melody and blew up uncontrollably. Oh well.. next time.
thanks so much for the kind words of praise you left for me on my profile page.
much appreciated.
