"On the one hand, I like the change, I like the overall feel and tone of the piece. On the other hand, some repetition is a comfortable thing in a piece of music.
Very definitely a feel of Debussy in there."
It really is a stream-of-consciousness kind of thing. Much like a dream would be. There are 2 major themes involved. First, that figure in the harp part that I introduced early on and then finished with. Second, the theme brought in by the…"
"I hear a little bit of Holst and Debussy in it. Not much, but nonetheless.
I'm not sure what to recommend to do differently... I didn't quite catch any familiar signposts (probably intentional on your part, I think), so it was difficult…"
"OK, Dave. Maybe you can help me with something. The only EQ plugin in my Logic plugin set that appears to have cut functions is the plugin called "Channel EQ" Here's a screenshot of the automation options.
I've tried "low…"
"The first paragraph of the first article raised my eyebrow.
Maybe not, but Logic's Score function gives the user an opportunity to prescribe these things, and more. (measures - time signatures, can be copied and pasted into a simple text…"
"II can only speak to Logic. You can export the entire array of midi regions (clips) from a Logic project. These regions retain their SMPTE positions. as well as tempo and automation data bestowed by Logic. Since midi data exists in a universal…"
"Thanks for the input, Bob. I didn't see any mentions of non-vibrato samples. In any event, I'm unlikely to find an instrument that would make me want to shell out more bucks on instruments. I've spent enough."
"Oh! one more thing. Is the flute vibrato a pitch variant or actually a tremolo? As closely as I've listened, I can't really tell. Physics tells me that it has to be a tremolo. (There shouldn't be any way to bend a note on a straight…"
"Not familiar with the music. (There were a lot of Baroque composers). Personally, I much prefer a faster, flatter vibrato. I think that the little portamentos at :50 would have been uncharacteristic for the period. It's definitely an acceptable…"
"Well, Ray. it looks like the Strad DOES use non-vibrato samples, after all. I wasn't able to find a reference to that when I was shopping around. Now, I'm seeing comments panning the Strad in favor of an instrument called "LASS…"

About Me (Must include biographical information about you as a composer):
It's been a life-long dream drive to create music. Been in bands, played in orchestras and listened to it all. I've always wanted to compose, but didn't think I could do it until I got serious about working with DAWs. I guess the DAW is my instrument now.
