About Me (Must include at least one paragraph of biographical information about you as a composer) - blank or minimal answers on this line will cause your request to be rejected. Include a link to your website if you have one.
I am a bassist of international note. I play the upright as well as the electric bass. I studied bass from James Clute of the Minnesota Orchestra as well as a short time with Dave Holland. I'm a continual student.
I have been performing professionally for over 25 years with the honor of playing with some of the great musicians noted in jazz such as Stan Getz, Elvin Jones, and many, many more. I primarily write for small ensembles. I want to communicate with other composers. I think of music in terms of textures, and I love the different blends of sounds that can be achieved in the small group context. I would like to write for larger ensembles in the future.

that sounds great but Arthur is so laid back if you come out I would try to set up some gigs or a recording in a friends studio with some good players. I knoe if i ask Arty he will be let's do it, but if you come you should come as a xacation in LA LA land for you and Barb. You would have more fun and if I get some gigs for you that would be an added feature. I would rather hang out with Mr. Jimmy and have a lugh. We could definitely record in my set up just us and bring in some fools. Look forward to talking.

Setting up a MIDI studio? That's a tough question- there are so many options. Ray can probably advise you better. For orchestral samples, I have Kontakt 4, but I don't use it much- I'd rather just use my narrow collection of favorites for the limited instrumentation that I use.

I appreciate your feedback and encouragement. Yeah- I like to through-compose and have a love for structure. Improv adds a bit of surprise to any composition. Jazz is uncharted territory for me and I'm more at home with progressive rock and classical structures.

If you get a chance, listen to one of the recordings on my page and give me feedback. Thanks!
