Well, quite a reasonable amount has changed since my last post! I am no longer living in Glasgow, I have moved to Surrey - south of London - where I will hopefully be continuing my education this year.
I have continued to compose works for the Rednote Ensemble, and have just finished two pieces for 3 violins, which I have submit for their concert on the 24th of May in Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre.
I have also recently completed a short piece for string orchestra, which will be…

It has been 3 months since my last post, so thought I'd finally get round to updating it...
Since the last post I have finished the string quartet I was working on, which I am very happy with. The entire piece is about 15 minutes long, and I'm looking forward to hear it performed.

The projects on the previous post have been postponed, due to shorter deadlines on other items. Inplace of these, I have been working on a series of works for small ensemble, and a string quartet; both of which are being written for concert.

The ensemble piece is being performed by the Rednote Ensemble in Edinburgh, and consists of Square 'Cello, Toy Piano, Sleigh Bells,… Continue

I officially started back at RSAMD yesterday, and had a composers' meeting at 2pm to discuss projects for this year. It looks like this is going to be a very busy (but exciting) year; I've been assigned 4 new projects on top of the 2 I already had.

I recently completed my sequenza for solo oboe, but still have the piano quintet and piece for solo viola to finish.

I have finished designing the structure of the piano quintet, and have completed 3 of the 5 sections, which I am very happy… Continue
