"Hi Ingo Thanks for taking a listen. The piece wasn't really supposed to be that long or at least I did not have in mind to write a long piece for solo flute. I am happy with the length of course it is just that wasn't my intention. I very…"

"Hi Julie  Thanks for the comments, it is nice to hear from someone with a lot of experience with the repertoire. I think I will leave it as a solo piece but I just wanted to put the question out there as I think it is something to…"

"Hi Alex, I enjoyed the piece very much and I think you and Andrew both did a great job. I like that you accepted the challenge of a longer monophonic solo and I think it works well. I think you could have introduced more abstract passage work, short…"

"Hey Alex- I'm a great fan of solo flute pieces and have studied them extensively.  I was the musical partner of a very knowledgeable flutist for over 20 years and we played most of the great flute/piano repertoire.  We also explored…"

"I've only ever written solo wind pieces like this as exercises (or for specific players) and I've found it too often becomes just a test of how interesting the composer can make a single line. This is good for a couple minutes but then my…"

"Alex, I don't normally go for solo flute, but I liked this and am curious about the title?  You seem to know a lot about writing for the instrument, so I hope you don't mind some niggling comments about notation fixes you should make…"

About Me (Must include at least one paragraph of biographical information about you as a composer) - blank or minimal answers on this line will cause your request to be rejected. Include a link to your website if you have one.
My name is Alex Oliver Cawley, I studied piano performance at the London College of music and now work as a piano teacher.

I love composing and am trying to be more active and share my work as I recently completed roughly 9 or so pieces for solo piano. I try to write in my own style but as far as inspiration I would say Prokofiev, Ravel, Faure, Piazolla are a few that love.

Am mostly looking for feedback and just a place to discuss music.
