"Thanks for your comment Saul.  I also think that it sounds like a sketch. Even in my production design career and paintings, I find that I like more the sketches than the finished works. So, I think you are not too far. "

"Thanks Colin. I appreciate your comment.  Every time I listen to it, I find that it really doesn't sound finished. Probably, because is too short.  I feel encouraged to work on a longer piece. But, I have this next piece I am…"

"Thanks Stephen.  I understand perfectly find what you are saying. I do find that the piece is not fully complete. It just that, it took me so long to simply learn how to do that counter point and joint pieces together, that I find myself tired…"

"Thanks Bob for your advice.  To be fair, I've haven't mastered any of the Panning, reverb, compression and EQ. For now, I think I am struggling with the composition part. Also, composition is where I want to concentrate. I know that…"

"Hi This is a very good opening few bars to a longer work for strings. Sounds great and has lots of potential - all you need do is come up with the rest of it! Colin"

"Terrific - I love the opening particularly. This is an excellent start but is certainly unfinished...write on and aim to make it last ten or fifteen minutes in length. If you can develop this you could achieve something really worth listening to.…"

"Panning, reverb, compression, EQ, and much more all come into play. You need to learn how to use them. But in the end, You decide. But even more important? Write good music. Good music will survive a questionable mix. Bad music, even with a great…"

"Thanks Bob for your advice. This really helps a lot. Because I've been feeling kind of stress thinking that there should be a way and only a way to mix a piece of music. But, when you mention, that if you give a a mixing task to another audio…"

Hello to all music lovers from Toronto, Canada.

I am mostly a very passionate amateur musician. My expectations for now are not to earn my life from music, but to enjoy it in full for my own satisfaction and love for music.

I mostly work in the film industry, but as a CG supervisor and artist for the 3D animation industry. Nothing related to music.

I have been trying to find a forum or group of people with whom I can share honest feedback about composition, structure, harmony and mock up for orchestral music.

Just by reading this website policy questions, I can see that you guys want to keep the forum concentrated on music and not so much into business. This makes me think that this group of people are exactly what I am looking for.

I am by no means a professional. I am more of an amateur in infancy that is trying to get feedback from other knowledgeable musicians.

Regards,

Tinto. (Agustin)
