Is Urban music anything like folk or folk rock?

One of my favorite genres in the whole of music when it comes to songwriting or singer-songwriters is folk - folk rock music. I had been listening to some music catorgized as urban music. The two styles have similar instrumentation--guitars being a prominent instrument in both. Maybe electric guitar is present in a lot of places. But what's the difference between the two? I don't see a difference. Urban may have more of a rock feel to it, although some elements of folk music are still present.
