Please keep in mind everyone: this group was intended (i believe) to be professional studio session musicians who have mastery of the instruments listed as well as mastery as a recording engineer and able to deliver professional, CD quality tracks. PLEASE dont add yourself to the roster because you own an instrument and a microphone, doing so will only make it a painful experience when someone is looking for a session player.
On the same note, any composer looking for players, this list has obviously varying degrees of talent and ability both musically and engineering. Please investigate the player(s) that you find on this list and make sure their proficiency and style are correct for your project
I think as long as you have examples of your work on your page, thats enough, folks can click through to your CF page and to your personal website. Let's not clutter this up too much, adding tunes here will just add to the sense of promotions and less to teh concept of a roster imo. Interested in what James thinks, he started this group ;-)
Chris, I really don't want to be prescriptive about what I expect from people other than they shouldn't be time-wasters. If you're posting up here as a session musician and a composer contacts you then you should really be available to do the job required. I've used musicians who have a fairly basic setup (but a huge amount of talent) and I've been extremely pleased with the results.
Also I think it might be noting what the musicians will need or expect; perhaps I should start a thread on this? I've worked with musicians who can work from the MIDI files alone and musicians who can get away with just hearing the piece. Obviously the less the composer has to prepare the easier this all is.
Anyway, for me this has been a massive success and if this means more work for musicians then that's all the better.
