I need a male vocalist in the style of Social Distortion for some remote session work. I'll send you the music, you record your vocals and send that back. I usually use people and record them here or in a nearby studio, but I thought it's about time to try this!

So, let me know if you are or know of any good male rockers!

I didn't have a problem with the Screen Music site Chris, but it is new so there may be glitches. Another one that I keep meaning to have a crack at is eSessions.

I probably would have laughed over the edge of my gobos ( where I was playing drums on a full band simul date live to 2 track ( maybe 3 track ) with no cue, and only a tinny click in one ear ( or not ) The brass would've been approx. 30 -40' away ( same for the reeds ) and I'd be compensating automatically for the time lag!

..and the shit STILL sounds good!!

What would you have said if someone told you back in the 60s or 70s that you would do a recording this way some day? haha

Speaking of "remote repair work", I'm currently engaged in a bunch of this on my new CD material ( recorded live a couple weeks ago . Overall, the seesions went quite well and the band played with a high energy level. But there were a number of keyboard fixes that have to be done. So, I contacted my old studio buddy Pat Coil who, as it turned out, is currently on tour with Michael McDonald .So: when I said "shit -I guess that means you cant do the fixes ? " Pat says: " No problem - I've got Logic and Pro Tools on my MacPro laptop -have your engineer send me the files and I can fix 'em in my hotel room in the afternoons -besides, it'll keep me from watching too much daytime TV! " So -thats what were gonna do! ( It does seem odd to be getting O/D tracks back from someone whom I actually DON'T KNOW HIS PHYSICAL LOCATION DAY TO DAY!
also: I'm doing the same thing to replace a no show
percussionist -( sending the files to Dallas for a couple old studio buddies to execute as well as some guitar tracks to LA -which I'd plan to do all along . )

If the overall plan works, all the data fixes should be back on the session hard drives in time to edit and mix by the end of July!! ..thanx to my great engineer and "data cop" , Tom Hall.

BTW: if youhaven't seen them yet, Dan Sheehan took some GREAT session photos that are at this link:
