Thank you, Charles, for taking the time to listen. And I'm glad they took you back to a sweet time with your great grand children.
Martha Maria, I think your Classical Suite for Children was indeed well focused for the children, and is appropriately nicely done. I was especially touched by the Thumbelina and by the Nightingale. They took my recollection back to times with my great-grandchildren. Thanks for sharing.
a link to a little classical suite I've written for children, based on the stories of Hans Christian Andersen. http://www.lilycatmusicforkids.com/
If this link takes you to the home page, just click on 'Listen' and you will find the suite there.
Many years ago, I used to teach music at Fort Sanders Developmental Center, which was the Knox County School for the most physically and mentally challenged children, ages 4 through 22nd birthday. I became interested in composing for children back then. Only took me some 25 years to get around to finally doing it.
Bye, Martha Maria (www.dogwooddaughter.com and www.lilycatmusicforkids.com)
All feedback / constructive criticism appreciated...
I wrote this music for a young composer friend of mine, who was worrying about how to develop a unique style. I said to him "you can write in any and all styles" and so wrote this piece in multiple styles.
Thank you very much, Charles! (If you don't mind, I'll pass your comment to Carla, the dedicatee - she is reponsible for the inspiration - and I think that inspiration makes all the difference)
Frans, I found your Nocturne to be quite an interesting work. Yes, I really did like it.
Thanks for sharing it.
I just published a new Nocturne for piano, on YouTube. All comments are welcome.
I see nearly a hundred listenings of this on Youtube, yet few comments here. If you listened and didn't care for it, no need to comment, but if you listened and liked it, please consider saying so. Every single positive comment means so much!
Here's a long piece of mine. Apologies in advance for the recording quality, it is the best I can get out of Finale.
