New member here. Just posted two arrangements in blog on my page. (Csardas/Czardas nonetheless.) Had to post twice (forgot the printable scores, comes with age I think.) Anyway would appreciate a listen and comments.

its interesting reading what piano composers say re: live performance vs digital media. Time was when I had fair piano skills. Alas a progressively debilitating neuromuscular condition now prevents that. Doesn't stop me from writing for the instrument and I'm reasonably sure something else will snuff me before this problem will. Point being, I for one am grateful to be semi alive at a time when the digital media technology allows me to have a sense of what my music might sound like.

My own piano playing is quite adequate, I think, but the ideal situation is still the performance of my compositions by renowned pianists. They perform my compositions more accurately than I ever could. Moreover, there is nothing better than sitting in the audience while your composition is performed.

I do not use digital media. My head, pencil and paper are good enough for me!

I've learned most of my pieces. I don't necessarily play them up to tempo (pretty close for all but the most difficult parts) nor perfectly, but it's only in the process of learning my music that I make the final decisions on what goes into it. My thinking is if I can't be bothered to learn to play my music why would anyone else? I've become a much better player (and piano composer) since I began learning my own pieces.

I must let the digital media present it for me since I am not an accomplished musician. I'm lucky if I can play two measures in a row--and up to tempo. But I do suppose that if I can play the hardest parts up to tempo, then it's playable by an actual musician.

Piano composer, here. I wonder if most of you record your own work, or let the digital media play it for you. peace

Hi everyone, I'm new here, but I'd be grateful for any feedback on my new piece: Dance Suite for Piano is on my profile page.

Thanks!

Hello, I am new to the group... as I am not usually composing for solo piano. I have just finished a piece (on my page) and would love to get the groups comments.
