New upload! THE JOURNEY was written as an avenue of refreshing. It is an instrumental composition that has several short movements that are bridged from one to the other. Toward the end, many of the themes merge in and out, hopefully bringing a pleasant and peaceful experience, as the listener anticipates how THE JOURNEY will end.

Hello everyone.... I've been a inactive member for awhile. Trying to learn how to work all the buttons on this site (lol). A few days ago I uploaded one of my orchestral arrangements of THIS IS MY FATHER'S WORLD. It was written for choir and orchestra, but all you will hear is the orchestral simulation.

LVB here, alias AW. The last two movements of my first piano sonata now orchestrated. Please comment on any, or all of the four movements.

Hello!

I'm new here!
I'm a student of music composition. I haven't studied orchestration yet but I couldn't wait so I'm reading the Rimsky Korsakov principles of Orchestration book and trying to put it in practice.
Please, check out my music and if you want you can make a feedback
Take Care :)

Hello Ray,
I'm a little confused with your response to my orchestration of the LVB piano sonata. Are you say that you wish only for original compositions in this section?
From my understanding of another thread, you seem to be encouraging someone else to submit their orchestration of someone else's music, namely "The Pirates of the Carribean" theme song. I believe this may be encouraging a violation of the code of coyright also.
This section is, after all, called "Orchestrators and Arrangers". To me then, it seems to encompass and encourage an orch or arr. of other peoples' music, to be scored and submitted, to be heard by other members who would then, if interested, make suitable comments. This is all I`ve done, with a Public Domain composition.
Is this a misunderstanding on my part? Please advise, and if so, I`ll take the orchestration down.
Thanks,
Anthony

I shall add my orchestration of Beethoven`s 1st piano sonata in the next day or two. I have orchestrated the four movements according to what I believe Beethoven may have used at this period in his life. This was part of my 2007 research work during discussions and workings by several other members of the SibeliusMusic Forum in orchestrating these sonatas. Looking back over my own work, I believe the triplet rhythms in the strings need to be revised, and perhaps a little more brass is needed also. Whether I will eventually see my way towards fitting in these revisions may depend on what views and critiques are offered here. This invitation is therefore now open.
Uploads commencing then . . . .

SNEAK PREVIEW OF MY NEW CD!!

On my playlist , I've added two new charts
that have been recorded by my "beta test " band -
the INCREDIBLE UNTx 2 O Clock lab band led by Jim Riggs ( who is retiring this year after 30 some years @ UNT ) These guys have tested all of my new stuff for the first two CDs, and are doing it again this year.

The tunes are @ the top of the playlist:
Play Tonic, Buds!
Limehouse Blues

I may a bit biased, but I think the 2 is easily the equal of the better known 1 O Clock . In fact , Riggs and the 2 O Clockers were selected as BEST college band in the recent Downbeat poll ( june issue ) and hopefully will have a great new CD of their own out soon.

I'm hoping to record my new one sometime this coming fall / winter. I have most of the writing done and about 66% of the production bread -so I'm fixin' to head towards the barn on this'n !

Watch this space!! :)

( and check out these kids on the playlist )

sorry for the "spammishness" of multiposting this, but I wanted all interested guys to hear these kids!
