Welcome Yaiza! Once you have had a chance to catch up, we hope you will perhaps open a new topic for us. (And, a reminder to others in this group that anyone is welcome to do so.) Thank you!

Hi everyone,

So beautiful to see real interest in Music History and how it still lives in present compositions. I am new to the site and group but I hope to catch up soon.
Congratulations

I'm back. I lost all my rules so I guess we'll not worry too much about them. The main rule of this group is that you must CITE YOUR SOURCES if you are giving information about composers of the past, particularly if you have a specific opinion that is based on that information. Thanks to Kirstofer Emerig for keeping Musical Scholars Group moving along while I was 'on Sabbatical.'

Topic for discussion: What can early composers teach us?

Here is a compostion by Guillaume de Machaut (1300-1370) called Je Vivroie Liement. We should write as well.

You can watch this video for this amazing and strange composition, it is Marketplace in Ispahan from Alladin Suite by Carl Nielsen, the Danish composer, here is the shortcut, I'll put the score of this amazing movement later, how do you think he wrote this music?
