Morning all (or whenever you read this.)

I really didn't know this group existed, and am thrilled to discover it.

In the Main forum, under "Jazz and other stuff" - sorry I don't remember exactly what it was called - I recently posted one of mine called "Thursday", but noone seems to visit that particular discussion group, which is a major shame....

If you do take a listen, please bear in mind that it's Finale's version of a MP3 - I cant afford any of the VST programs...Also it will seem a little disjointed as I deleted a lot in order to get it down to a reasonable listening length

Hi fellow jazzers,

Am new to this group and would just like to just say hi to everyone. I have a website that I built with just two tunes posted. They are solo jazz piano arrangements of "Darn That Dream" and "You Must Believe In Spring" Please visit when you have a moment to listen. I would appreciate any and all comments. Also, Since recording these two pieces I have restructured them and plan on posting re-takes of both. I am learning how to use some recording equipment and software (ProTools LE) so I have not posted anymore than these two tunes. Working on a tutorial disk called "Mixing and Mastering" in hopes of being able to learn more so that I may better capture the sound of our piano. Thanks in advance for taking the time to listen.

Just as it is on the CD:

Phil Kelly and the Northwest Prevailing Winds ..you do have to type it in.

Phil you should put the name to vote for as you want it. Since you arent in the drop down menu, should I put "Phil Kelly and the Pacific Northwest Winds"? Or is it Santa Ana winds? Im cornfoosed buddy

Its that time of year again to vote in the readers poll in Downbeat Magazine, so myself and the NWPW guys would appreciate your vote in the large jazz ensemble category ! ( also, if you happen to like my arrangements, I'd also appreciate your writing me in for the arranging category )

It only takes a few minutes and is open to all Downbeat magazine and online subscribers -you can find it HERE:

http://www.downbeat.com/

We all thank you in advance if you take the time and give a boost
to Northwest big band jazz!

CD#3 Update!

With any luck, I finally have the whole band corralled at last to get the new CD recorded the last weekend of May!

I'll keep y'all updated on the progress from there!
