Mozart sits to compose the Sonata #16, but vexed by the fear that his preeminence as the world's greatest composer will be outshone by the elder Bach, he quickly, by the second measure, descends into a deranged fugue state.

Mozart's problem was not that there was  any kind of competition with Bach.

His problem was that his hair was wound too tight.

.. and the rheumatic and typhoid fever, renal failure, small pox, and syphilis probably didn't help much. Hooray for plumbing!
