This  5 - 6 minute work is for Full Orchestra.

It's a musical depiction of a photograph taken by photographer Patricia Bazelon depicting an old abandoned steel making factory taken at dawn.  At this factory, limestone would be shipped to an area with automatic hammers that would pound it down until it was powder.  That powder would then be sent through a chute leading to a Bessemer furnace where it would be mixed with other elements that would ultimately become steel.

I've included here the photo that was the inspiration for this piece.

Critique away colleagues!  :)

By the way I should have said I enjoyed the other piece.

Any now for this one:

Loved it too. Lots of interesting chords - would like to know exactly which, (minor with extensions?) underpinned by a great snare rhythm and energetic strings.

The hammers really are painted onto the soundscape.

Great that you can find inspiration in these industrial settings.

"Minor with extensions"?  Hmmmmm.....  I like that!  :)

Anyway, Thanks Adrian for the kind words.
