Here is the score for my guitar duet, which is an homage to Dante's "The Divine Comedy". I would appreciate constructive feedback.

I'm intrigued by the music so I have a few questions:
Are you a guitar player?
Were you aware of choosing a very difficult guitar key with all those flats?
Is it intended for acoustic guitars?
It's quite hard to form a strong opinion when the realization sounds quite mechanical and the score doesn't have many instructions on it.I'm not quite sure of the sort of mood you are aiming for - at the moment it has a restless quality to it, but the choice of key bothers me the most.
Permalink Reply by Noah Fraioli on February 5, 2012 at 9:02am No, I don't play guitar. I can play maybe one or two songs that I wrote myself, but I can't play anything that requires a lot of effort on my part.
I was aware that I was choosing a very underplayed guitar key. However, given the flexibility of the tuning (Drop-C for both guitars), I figured that anybody could pick this up with mild to moderate difficulty.
I'm thinking of adapting this song for both a bass guitar and drums so that it could be played at a concert intended for metal audiences. But, when I originally wrote it, I intended it to be played by only two guitars, which could be either distortion or acoustic.
As I try to mention everywhere I can (x.x), I am trying to get a recording of this song on an actual guitar and not a mechanical manifestation such as the one I published.
The song is supposed to feel like a journey. Like in "The Divine Comedy," the idea is that the listener starts off in a "a dark wood" and must climb to the summit before him in order to change himself for the better. So, yes, the song is very restless. But, in my opinion, that's where the ending comes in: to congratulate the listener on making it this far.
Thank you for commenting. You're the first person to really respond to my music this way. : )
