Music Composers Unite!

This is probably the most personal work of mine, written during a time of great emotional turmoil. In this piece, I wanted to illustrate a journey of spiritual understanding, and the plethora of emotions that accompanies it.

I hope you enjoy it!

What i can say? I don`t like then somebody told me the story of music and I start listen with skeptical feelings, but I found very, very intresting quartet, that keep all composition "rules" then you write for strings quartet. Many composers forget that quartet are 4 soloists and have to be with virtuosity, you have it and the contrast between movements the same is good. I like you musical style, you dont stick around major and minor having interesting, modern "musical language". The same you Fantesy for 2 pianos - good, very good work, I like it. All the best and thanks for you music.

Thank you for your feedback Vlad! I would have to agree with you regarding your statement about not liking it when the "story" of the music is laid out if front of you. My preference generally is to simply let the music speak for itself. For that reason, I usually keep my introductory comments before performances of my works rather brief. However, with this particular piece, I think that the audience could benefit from knowing the "program." Regardless, anyone is welcome to draw their own conclusions as to what the "deeper" meaning of the work is.

Thanks again for your time/comments!

You welcome, John. About program of work - many times it necessary to help the audience to understand better the idea of work that based on modern  expression language. But I try to put that on name of work (like "Shadow", "Labyrinth", etc), ok, is not wrong to tell the story if music is good! Maybe I do not agree to much this type of explanation.

Best rgrds,

Vlad

Fair enough, and normally I would share your view. I have removed the story, to let listeners draw their own conclusions.
