I met my wife 3 years ago, online, and celebrating one year wedding anniversary now. 3 weeks after meeting her she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She wanted to cancel our date that night but I convinced her not to! Anyway after surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy she came through fine.

I organised a concert and without her knowing (until she read the programme) , the first piece was written for her. She said it was one of the best surprises of her life. We walked down the aisle to this piece and it holds a special place in our hearts.

Anyway she knows I go on this site so she asked for me to post "her" piece and to say hi to everyone here !

Paul,

Nice piece.  The thematic material reminded me of The Fury, but of course very different in mood.

So glad about the positive outcome and your state of happiness.

Mariza

As with your other pieces it is not just the beautifully crafted melody that just flows but the interesting inner parts although glad I don't have to play the double stopping at 74.

Must have been a long walk down the aisle.

Thanks Nikola - yes shes a dove and im a turkey!

It's a beautiful story. I'm glad that she is fine now.

It's also a very lovely piece. It evokes images in mind of 2 birds in love :)

Lol thanks Mariza you have a good ear that's for sure. Glad "the fury" is not about my marriage! (actually its not about anything per se)

Thanx Michael - lol - yes when I play them they become alternate 4th and 2nds - wouldn't wanna marry anyone to that!

Good point but string q started playing several minutes b4 and just faded at the end. The alternative was having a 600metre aisle.... I just cant be brief with music!! lol

Yes shes all fine! I also wrote a 2nd  movement which was for our first waltz at our wedding and the 3rd movement (which hasn't been played) which is an exuberant "happily ever after" sort of finale! Thanx for listening : )

Hi Susan , sorry for being slow! will post in a little while.

Wow. Now actually,  something like that is beyond my reacht, but it is what I wanted to create, that feeling.

I am going back to the drawingboard...

Thanks for letting me listen to it, I can understand your girl liked it a lot! (mine has no idea about classical music, she is a fan of R&B and hiphop).

I don't think it is beyond your reach at all Erwin.

How lovely that your wife is doing well and that you have this very personal piece as your own "love theme".

Is this a recording from the live performance or is it a rendered MIDI? I know, I should just be able to tell, right?

And even though this is the Music Analysis and Critique group, with a story like that, there is no way I would attempt to provide any sort of critique! :-) May you two have many years together!

Hi Antonio its a live performance.

Lovely story and a lovely piece!!   Thank heaven everything turned out fine.  May you have many wonderful years together.
