Music Composers Unite!
I don't really have any concerns with this piece except that it might sound too familiar to the average ear to be taken seriously. As this is a serious effort on my part, I would like to know if there are any problems with the piece.
Also, as I do not have access to an mp3 converter, if somebody could make an mp3 of this .midi file and post it as a reply to this thread, I would appreciate it very much. Thank you.
This is written in a kind of classical style....
i love it, it has grace.
Very nicely done. Definitely has classical connotations. I have no criticisms (then again, I'm not a critic), I just listened and enjoyed.
The piece feels well-rounded, with a clear beginning and ending that is satisfying. I enjoyed the upper and lower voices trading various motifs back and forth, and this kept my interest throughout. In the middle, I felt that the harmonies became a little more ambiguous--if desired, I think they can be better defined by more clearly outlining the target chord in the melody. For example, in measures 42-47, the eighth-note figures feel slightly out of place because they don't outline a triad chord like in the preceding or following measures.
If it is possible, it might improve readability to use a 2/4 time signature in the first measure and use an eighth rest to begin the piece. Also, I'm wondering if the pitches are sounding an octave below written.
Overall, it's a great piece, and I enjoyed listening to it!
And here's the mp3 you wanted :)
Nice use of you motif/theme!
Dont have any criticism for this piece, but if you want to step it up i notch for later compositions id suggest a bit more harmonization.
