Music Composers Unite!
Now that we will be collecting submissions for competition number one, we need qualified judges to decide who will win two of the three categories as outlined by the competition rules page: Best Score, and Best Composition of Show.
We need at least five judges selected by the end of the submission period, July 1. An additional five slots will be available to anyone who is interested.
The winners of these categories could potentially be decided by you based on a tried-and-tested point system derived from other competitions' criteria.
Remember, if you are a judge, you cannot compete in the competition. So, decide whether or not you would like to compete before submitting your qualifications below.
Favorable Qualifications:
The following qualifications will increase your chances of being selected. Not having them will not eliminate you from the selection process.
Deadline for applications: 12:00am EST July 1, 2012
To be considered for the position of Competition Judge, you must submit your qualifications as a response to this thread in no fewer than 100 words.
I thank all applicants in advance for their time to this opportunity! : )

Should we put a call out on Sons of Sibelius for more judges?
Maybe we should ask John Corelis to be a judge if he's not going to enter - he seems to be our resident poetry expert.

If you would like to try your hand at judging but never had before, we would be happy to have you on board.

Two weeks is plenty of time, in my opinion. Once people start finding out that people are entering as expected, more buzz will begin about it. That should draw in at least two more judges before July 1.
Also, fyi, you can be part of the solution and submit an application for judge :|

Noah,
You should have had the judging sorted first.

For what ......... A half baked chat room idea. Hmm!
I'm not giving an official opinion here. Just my personal observation.

Permalink Reply by Hooded Pianist on July 1, 2012 at 9:20am I would like to sign up to be a judge, I don't have that many qualifications, but I do have experience in composition, and I am almost always working on something musical. I think I am experience enough to judge for this contest. Thanks in advance!
