Music Composers Unite!

I think East Meets West is the best thing I have ever written. It is a piano piece which combines an oriental style with rock n roll, and other stuff. Here it is, about 12 minutes long. What's your best? https://youtu.be/TfC9ZnKKwV8

I thought that was really fantastic. Major accomplishment.

Thanks, Joseph! Glad you enjoyed it. I'm interested to hear what other composers personally consider their "best".

I have listened to all the composers who have posted here so far. So glad you posted your best and have enjoyed this thread so far, and hope more will post. I may comment on individual pieces sometimes, or make just general comments at other times. It's great to hear from you what you think are your best compositions!

Hard to say what my "best" is, but there's been a few pieces recently that I've been pretty happy with for different reasons.  There's a string quartet called Divergence that has some aspects I really like, as well as Chroma- I think that I made some real progress with uniting gestures from different instruments together into something larger.

I don't know if I have a best, but I know I have a worst, lol, but hey sometimes you just write stuff for the money and not the art. https://soundcloud.com/rodney-money-1/school-commercial

Not sure if this is my best in all of my work that I have actually written down, and a lot of it is kind of lighthearted, but this is what I have that one can listen to (a lot of my stuff is just written at the piano):

That's fair Rodney. And I like the brass trio Daniel!

Awesome!  First movement though?

Anyway, I could see a huge Stravinsky influence in the third movement. Especially from things like his "Suites 1/2 for Small Orchestra."  Great whimsical feel.  In the second movement, I can't help but think of the Willy Wonka theme from the opening clarinet theme, lol.  It is very nice though, and I can again got some Stravinsky vibes with the clarinet writing.

Lol, I posted mine as a joke, if course.

Sometimes music written for a specific purpose, including commercial purposes, for reasons I don't quite understand, can be some of the best work a person does. This is very nice Rodney
