Hi Stephen,  I enjoyed your piece, you have a good command of the jazz idiom.  It has an appealing melody and interesting harmony.

The video is very interesting,  the piano software in action with bamboo art background,  cool idea!

Hi Stephen, I think this piece is quite good! A good rollicking rolling central riff, memorable and satisfying to the ear, that composed-by-a-pianist quality that I have noted in your other works, and exciting variances and changes which keep it fresh. A good piece to watch performed I bet, I would put this one in your performance list if you have one. One other note, this struck me as very much in keeping with some of the sounds we are starting to hear coming out of Broadway, a bit more hip and modern sounding than most shows - I bet this would work as a showtune with lyrics, though it doesn’t need them.
Kudos on a nice piece and a job well done!
Gav
Thank you Gav and Ingo for your kind comments.
I’m a little hard to satisfy with regard to my own compositions and feel the piece is a little rough around the edges and could use more development, but that’s where it stands now.
Thank you.

Really very nicely done--I enjoyed listening to this very much:)

I very much agree with Gavs comment here.

A more recent performance (by several days). I record to MIDI and then play that back through Pianoteq.

Thank you Bob for your comments. :)

It took a while to get around to making a video of an actual performance of this piece, but here it is.

Serpentine 1 for solo piano, performed using a Kawai VPC1 (MIDI controller keyboard) and the Steingraeber grand piano of Pianoteq 6.
