Music Composers Unite!
The majority of my duties at the academy that I work for is to constantly compose new works for the students. Here's my latest that will be performed later this month. It's the school's Alma Mater.
Beautiful song. Well written. I especially enjoyed your choice of harmonies. Every really good school song should have a touch of sadness to bring a tear to the eye of the alumni. You accomplished this admirably.
Forgive my one criticism, the vocal range is very wide for untrained voices. And it lies in a Bass / Alto register, highly unusual for a school song. Not sure what could be done about that. A simple transposition to Bb will move it up a whole tone and that will help with most of the song, but then you would have an F at the climax, which is going to be tough for most untrained singers. Hmmm. No simple solution.
