Music Composers Unite!

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to composing. I was formerly in a metal band and I just couldn't tour anymore. I was wondering what everyone here thought of Logic Studio? I've been working in Garageband a lot and love Mac. I would never stray. Is Logic worth it?

Yeah... it has to be better right now on OSX with 8 cores than Cubase 5. I just bought Logic, and DP, having found decent deals for both.

I agree with all that everyone has said. You will find that some have an almost fanatical view about which DAW is best, but to me, the best DAW is the one that enables you to get your work done. If you like Garageband and you can work with it, Logic is the next 'logical' step upwards. The package contains so many plug-ins and instruments that you won't need to look outside of the package for a long while. If you are on the Mac then you may want to have a look at DP which is also very good, I run both as DP does have a few features that i use for Sound Design, which Logic doesn't and vice versa, Logic has so many cool instruments built in which I use a lot too. Horses for course. I would suggest getting down to an Apple Store and checking Logic out.

Good luck!

Neil

I would suggest finding a better deal than the Apple Store. I got it on eBay for $299.
